Fall gathering

Fall is all around us. The leaves are beginning to turn colors, acorns are falling perfect for gathering, counting and singing about. Loving our Indian Summer weather!

Painting the Apple Trees

It is always fun to see what happens after demonstrating a project. The kids were so awesome at following directions! All the trees turned out so well! Love them! (there was one little trick, encouraging a good stopping point or the entire paper may have been filled up, which would actually look nice too!)

Apples

We have been learning all about apples the last couple of weeks. Today we did an apple tasting, made apple pie and apple prints in paint!

 

Sharing Day

All the kids seem to love sharing day. Every Wednesday the children are able to bring something to school to share, this could be a favorite toy, book, photo, picture or project they made themselves, or a treasure they found in nature. They take turns sitting up from in a chair and tell their friends about what they brought. They do a great job!

Sorting by Colors

It's always a good reminder that what we think may be too simple is actually really a lot fun! They had so much fun hunting around the classroom for things to put on the colors!

A New School Year

Welcome back to everyone! We are back in the swing of things with our old and new friends again! There are many conversations about The Golden Rule and getting along. We are all ready for a great school year!

Cooking and Gardening Camp

 

Our first week of afterschool summer camp was a hit! We made grassheads...still waiting for the hair to sprout, painted pots and planted flowers in them and made lots of yummy food! Homemade tortillas, whole grain waffles, blueberry zucchini bread, homemade meatballs with spaghetti, and chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream in a fun ice cream maker!

End of the Year Party

We had a carnival party with bowling, water balloon toss, hit the can, cotton ball scoop and beanbag toss. Such a fun way to celebrate the end of the year, especially for those children going off to kindergarten. We will miss all of you!

Planting our School Garden

Several weeks ago we put together some new garden boxes, filled them with soil, planted seeds and watered our school garden. Now we are checking it daily to see new sprouts, the strawberries to turn red, and the little flowers on the tomato plants to turn into tomatoes! This is such a fun project for the kids!
